CDM Services have been engaged by KSS Architects to provide Principal Designer Advisor services on this high-quality re-development of the East Stand of Twickenham Rugby Stadium, home of the RFU and England Rugby Union team. The project will provide over 11,000sqm of hospitality and debenture space for 6,800 premium ticket holders. The overall stadium capacity will remain at 82,000 but the new facilities will provide a major extension of the current hospitality and conferencing facilities.
The major difficulty for the project has been the planning, management and coordination of construction activities alongside the many live events that the Stadium has continued to hold. Close liaison with the Client, Design Team and Construction Manager with the major focus on health and safety management has been key to the success of the project to date.
